Edge Series

Celebrity at its most design-led — outward-facing, grown-up and quietly spectacular.

The Edge Series reimagined what a premium ship looks like: the sea is never more than a glance away, the interiors were drawn by names you'd recognise from hotels rather than shipyards, and the suite experience — The Retreat — is a genuine ship-within-a-ship. Five sisters now, each one refining the last.

What defines this class

The Edge Series experience, in plain English.

Size

Approximately 130,000–141,000 GT, 2,900–3,250 guests. Big enough for choice, small enough that you learn the ship in a day.

Style

Contemporary, design-forward and adult-leaning. Kelly Hoppen, Nate Berkus and Tom Wright interiors; a resort deck rather than a waterpark; calm, considered spaces.

Suits

Couples, celebrating pairs, design-minded travellers and experienced cruisers who want space and good food over slides and rock walls — with an excellent suite tier for those who want more.

Standout features

What sets these ships apart.

A high-level look — we'll happily go deeper on any of these when we speak.

The Magic Carpet

A cantilevered platform that moves up the side of the ship — a tender platform on Deck 2, a bar higher up, a dinner venue at the top. Nothing else at sea does this.

Infinite Veranda cabins

The balcony becomes part of the room at the touch of a button. It divides opinion — we'll tell you honestly whether it suits how you use a balcony, or whether a Sunset or Sky Suite is the better buy.

The Retreat

A private sundeck, lounge and restaurant (Luminae) exclusive to suite guests, with a dedicated butler and concierge. Arguably the strongest premium suite product afloat.

Four main restaurants

Instead of one dining room, Edge ships give you four distinct main restaurants included in your fare — plus Eden, Fine Cut and Le Voyage among the speciality venues.

Designer interiors

Rooftop Garden, the Grand Plaza and Eden feel closer to a boutique hotel than a cruise ship. Restrained, warm and genuinely beautiful.

All Included fares

Most UK Edge Series fares bundle drinks, Wi-Fi and tips. We'll check whether the included package genuinely covers what you'll drink, or whether an upgrade pays for itself.

The ships in this class

Sister ships, considered choices.

Same class, but the newer ships add features and refine layouts. We'll help you weigh year, refit and itinerary together.

2018 · the original

The ship that started the series, and still one of the best-value ways into it. Refitted and refreshed, with the same Magic Carpet and Retreat experience.

Fleet lists change. If a ship you've heard about isn't here, or you're weighing two side by side — just ask.

Who this class is best for

Is this the right ship for you?

Honest note: If you're travelling with young children who want a waterpark, ice rink and non-stop activity, a Royal Caribbean Oasis or Icon ship will suit your family better — and we'll say so rather than sell you the wrong week.

  • Couples and celebrating pairs who want design, space and calm rather than waterslides
  • Food-led travellers — four included main restaurants plus a strong speciality line-up
  • First-time premium cruisers stepping up from mainstream lines
  • Suite guests who want The Retreat's private restaurant, sundeck and butler service
  • Anyone weighing a Mediterranean, Caribbean or Northern Europe week on a modern ship
