Oasis of the Seas

The ship that changed cruising — and still does it beautifully.

Oasis of the Seas launched in December 2009 as the world's first truly neighbourhood-based cruise ship: Central Park with real trees, the Boardwalk with a hand-carved carousel, and the AquaTheater at the stern. A 2019 amplification added the Ultimate Abyss slide, the Perfect Storm waterslides and Portside BBQ. Sixteen years on, she's still one of the most complete family ships at sea.

Onboard

Standout features, at a glance.

A high-level look. We'll go deeper on any of these — including the shows worth pre-booking — when we speak.

Central Park

An open-air park in the middle of the ship — real trees, quiet restaurants like 150 Central Park and Chops Grille, live jazz at Trellis Bar in the evenings.

Royal Theater & AquaTheater

A full Broadway-scale theatre plus the outdoor AquaTheater at the stern — high-diving, acrobatics and synchronised swimming, weather permitting.

The Perfect Storm & Ultimate Abyss

Two racing waterslides on the pool deck, and the ten-storey Ultimate Abyss dry slide from deck 16 down to the Boardwalk — added in the 2019 amplification.

Dining variety

150 Central Park, Chops Grille, Giovanni's Table, Izumi, Chef's Table, Coastal Kitchen for suite guests, plus Portside BBQ and El Loco Fresh for casual days.

The Boardwalk

Coney Island-inspired neighbourhood at the stern — hand-carved carousel, arcade, Playmakers sports bar, family-friendly Johnny Rockets and direct AquaTheater views.

Ultimate Panoramic Suite

A wraparound forward-facing suite with 270-degree views — one of the most sought-after cabins in the Oasis fleet. We'll tell you honestly whether it's worth the premium for your week.

Cabins & where to book

Not all balconies are equal.

Oasis has over 30 stateroom categories across 16 guest decks. The magic — and the traps — sit in the Central Park and Boardwalk balconies: some are wonderful, some overlook noisy venues or have obstructed views for the same money.

We'll steer you clear of the obstructed views, the cabins under the pool deck and the noisy connecting doors — and towards the ones that quietly go for the same money.

Best value balcony

Central Park view balcony, deck 10 or 11 mid-ship

Quiet, leafy, mid-ship for minimal motion — and priced below an ocean-view balcony on the same deck.

Best for families

Boardwalk balcony, aft-facing on deck 12+

Direct AquaTheater views from your balcony — front row for the show without booking a seat. Avoid decks 6–8 if you're a light sleeper (music runs late).

Quiet ocean view

Deck 9 or 10 aft-facing ocean-view balcony

Sunrise over the wake, well away from the pool deck and the neighbourhoods. Our pick for couples on an Oasis sailing.

Suite splurge

Crown Loft Suite or Grand Suite, deck 17

Two-storey Crown Lofts are unique to Oasis-class. Crown & Anchor perks plus access to Coastal Kitchen and the suite sun deck.

Where she sails

Summer — Mediterranean

Barcelona · Rome (Civitavecchia)

7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries — Barcelona, Palma, Marseille, Florence/Pisa, Rome, Naples — with a full sea day to enjoy the ship.

Winter — Caribbean

Miami or Port Canaveral, Florida

7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean loops, most including Perfect Day at CocoCay — Royal's private-island day that alone is worth the fare.

Repositioning

Transatlantic — spring & autumn

Occasional 12–14 night crossings between the Caribbean and Europe. Long sea-day stretches that show off just how much ship there is.
