Onboard
A high-level look. We'll go deeper on any of these — including the shows worth pre-booking — when we speak.
A high polar ice class, dynamic positioning and strong stabilisers mean confident operation in the far south and high north.
Around 24 guides, naturalists and lecturers — roughly one for every ten guests, with Zodiacs for small-group landings.
Several restaurants including The Restaurant, La Terrazza and a grill — proper cooking at the end of a cold morning ashore.
Spa, sauna and treatment rooms, plus outdoor warm-water relaxation with a view of the ice.
Every guest has a suite with butler service, and most have a veranda — unusual on a true expedition ship.
Small enough to land everyone efficiently under Antarctic guidelines, so you spend more time ashore and less time waiting.
Cabins & where to book
On an expedition ship the choice is different: motion, warmth and how quickly you can get to the Zodiac platform matter more than square footage. Lower and mid-ship suites ride best in a Drake crossing; higher suites give better viewing on scenic days.
We'll steer you clear of the obstructed views, the cabins under the pool deck and the noisy connecting doors — and towards the ones that quietly go for the same money.
Best value
Vista or Classic Veranda Suite
The same inclusions, expedition gear and landings as the larger grades. Position usually matters more than the category label.
Steadiest ride
Mid-ship, lower suite decks
The sensible choice for the Drake Passage or a North Atlantic crossing.
Best viewing
Higher decks, forward-facing
Excellent for scenic cruising and wildlife spotting from your own veranda.
The splurge
Grand, Otium or Owner's Suite
Separate living space and a generous veranda for long voyages. Layouts differ, so we compare exact suites.
